What Improvements Are Happening at Carolina Pines Park?

The Carolina Pines Accessible Playground is being developed to foster a more inclusive and equitable play environment, better serving the diverse needs of our community. This exciting new space will feature distinct play areas designed specifically for children aged 2-5 and 5-12, ensuring age-appropriate challenges and engagement. The playground's design will prioritize universal accessibility, addressing a wide range of needs across multiple domains. This includes considerations for Inclusive Design principles, supporting Physical development (Gross/Fine Motor skills), Social-Emotional growth (Interaction/Cooperation), and Sensory experiences (Sight, Touch, Smell, Hearing, Vestibular). Furthermore, the playground will cater to Cognitive development (Memory, Imagination), Communication and Expression, and other crucial aspects of a truly universal design, ensuring that children of all abilities can experience the joy and benefits of play.
