Cottage Court Garages (TC-10-24): This text change amends the Unified Development Ordinance to amend the definition of “Gross Floor Area” by removing attached garages from the calculation. Read the draft ordinance.
Background information:
This is an external text change request in which the applicant is seeking the ability to provide attached garages within a cottage court development and not impact the size of the dwelling if an attached garage is included. The applicant states this will reduce impervious coverage and land disturbance by placing the garage under the roof of the home as opposed to an entirely separate structure. This will allow perspective buyers the ability to have an attached garage included as part of a smaller home in cottage court developments.
Proposed Text Change:
Seeks to amend definition of “Gross Floor Area” (GFA) by removing attached garages from the calculation; replace with max. garage sizes.
