Your Street, Your Input: Wake Towne Drive
Your Street, Your Input: Wake Towne Drive
Welcome! A traffic-calming project is coming to Wake Towne Drive to help improve safety for everyone driving, walking, and biking in your neighborhood. Our goal is safer streets for all!
Wake Towne Drive ranks within the top 20 streets in the city with documented speed and/or crash concerns. Specifically:
- Typical driving speeds are 34 MPH (Current speed limit is 25 MPH).
- There have been two speed-related crash in the last three years.
We are excited to hear your feedback on the design so we can make these improvements. It is important that we hear from you and your neighbors by 5 PM on September 18.

Proposed Design
City staff are recommending one of two options to slow speeding on Wake Towne Drive:
- Speed Humps, or;
- Speed Cushions
More information on the difference between these two options is on the next page. We propose installing speed humps or cushions every 500 feet. You may see markings that look like this along your street, which indicate the proposed locations.
Design Map
This map shows the proposed locations of the speed humps or cushion. You can also view a larger PDF of this map.
