Tarboro Road Park Redevelopment Project - Planning Process
Tarboro Road Park Redevelopment Project - Planning Process
The voter-approve 2022 Raleigh Parks Bond provides funding for the redevelopment of Tarboro Road Park.
Plans for the Tarboro Road Park project include a new community center, new outdoor amenities and recreational features, new parking areas, and improvements to the existing Saint Monica’s Teen Center.
Current Project Status
Raleigh Parks is currently preparing a Situation Assessment for Tarboro Road Park Redevelopment Project. A Situation Assessment provides analysis of the local context around a project, helping park planning staff effectively engage the community in a collaborative process. Situation Assessments analyze the historical and cultural context of the park and surrounding community and identifies key project stakeholders. Situation Assessments seek to proactively identify issues that may come up during the park planning process.
The Situation Assessment also identifies the Community Advisory Group (CAG), a membership-specific committee providing oversight of the park planning process. The intent of the CAG is include a broad representation of community stakeholders interested and related to the project. CAG members help facilitate information sharing between the community and park planning staff.
Official project kick-off is planned for Fall 2023. The Parks, Recreation and Greenway Advisory Board will appoint CAG membership at their November 2023 meeting.
