Cooling the City's Hottest Areas - ER3 Survey
Cooling the City's Hottest Areas - ER3 Survey
The Environmental Resilience 3 Team (ER.3) exists as part of the Strategic Plan to address the growing threat that extreme heat poses to Raleigh. Our team provides value by proposing solutions and getting conversations going about heat mitigation and management. Our mission is to increase heat-related solutions and safety for residents and visitors in the City.
Survey Intro
Raleigh Community Heat Resilience Survey
Estimated time: 15 minutes
Survey Purpose: As the population in Raleigh continues to grow, factors such as an increase in paved surfaces and a decrease in greenspace may continue to increase temperatures across the city, unless we take strategic action to lessen the impact. City solutions such as cool pavements and green stormwater infrastructure (for example, rain gardens) are underway, and we are exploring what else can be done. This survey aims to identify what resources the community needs and how they could be delivered. Results from this research will be used to inform next steps for City of Raleigh heat mitigation (actions taken to lessen or minimize the negative impacts of hazardous heat events).
